Well here we are it’s August already. I have been slow to start on SQLSaturday events and have IMO missed some great ones. Hopefully next year will come easier.<\/p>\n
I am traveling to my home state of Indiana to present at #SQLSatIndy on August 12.\u00a0 I will be doing my new presentation “Reduce your DBA (& DEV) task list by using Microsoft BI tools<\/a><\/strong>” just before lunch.\u00a0 I am evolving this session as I go along, trying to incorporate ideas the class comes up with.<\/p>\n Hope and John do an awesome job for this event. This year they have brought back their beginner track<\/a>. This track is open to anyone and they encourage folks not in IT to attend.\u00a0I will be co-presenting with my husband for the first time “Introduction to Business Intelligence”<\/strong>.\u00a0 It’s funny that in 2010 we would have arguments over the very definition of Business Intelligence, but thankfully Stacia came along and saved our marriage. \ud83d\ude09 That is\u00a0a fun story for a different day.<\/p>\n Want to see either of these presentations you better register soon! It is a dark cigar bar that boast a huge drink menu and large leather couches for you to relax in. If that isn’t your cup of tea last year we ate dinner with friends at Cooper’s Hawk<\/a>.\u00a0 They have a great menu and even a cheat sheet for pairing their wine with your dinner. I just visited their place in Columbus, OH and I am now a card carrying member.\u00a0 Like quirky? The Rathskeller <\/a>used to be one of our favorite places to visit. What to throw back to your college days? Hot Box Pizza<\/a>, I will be having this for lunch one of the days I am there. Want to shop? There is the Fashion Mall<\/a>, it has a Tesla store. Casselton has lots of regular shopping, including a Lego store. Need a place to take the kids? My friends all make regular trips to the Children’s Museum<\/a>. Not sure what to do, what to eat or where to drink? Try Fountain Square<\/a>.\u00a0 We have visited there with our friends and just love all the variety. Need more suggestions, just ask.
