I am not a DBA, and I have only pretended to be one after KLT had moved on to TN.\u00a0 But I have seen all of these items cause problems for databases and as a customer of these databases I found it to be extremely annoying.<\/p>\n

  1. users who don’t care<\/li>\n
  2. users who have too many rights<\/li>\n
  3. USERS who have no knowledge of how a DB works or how to write SQL and those who have no idea what could make a query slow<\/li>\n
  4. A bad data model<\/li>\n
  5. Forcing size limit on a DB and requiring a DB to fix it.\u00a0 BAD! BAD DBA! (Had a core system go down more than once cause of this)<\/li>\n
  6. Clueless DBA, sorry but I have seen them do more harm than good.<\/li>\n
  7. Replication –<\/li>\n
  8. Log files –<\/li>\n
