By Tamera, on January 11th, 2009% Or as we like to call it Italian Chili. Seems to me that the word stew induces a very specific vision. For me the word stew makes me think heavy, a thickened sauce, large chunks of meat, potatoes and vegetables. And when I first made this recipe it ran more along the lines of tasting like chili without the red base. I have adapted this recipe from one in the Kraft Family Food and Fun magazine , Easy Italian Stew from the Fall 2007 edition. The reason I made changes was mostly due to not being able to find ingredients and knowing that I could do some of them a . . . → Read More: Italian Stew Chili
By Tamera, on January 7th, 2009% …even if it does mean more work.
So yesterday when I got home there were 3 boxes on the front porch and a large envelope in the mail box. 🙂 W00T! for me.
And cause I couldn’t get it all in one shot.
You are wondering how this is more work? Well all of the Food Saver canisters have to be washed and their new home created (<-meaning clean out a cabinet and figure out where to put old tupperware). Then the HD enclosure needs to be put to use and recover data off of the old lappy. Plus we might as well do a product review. Then . . . → Read More: I love deliveries

By Tamera, on January 6th, 2009% So we had friends come through town and they wanted to meet up for dinner. A wonderful surprise and it felt weird as we don’t really live in Nashville just yet. They have a toddler and wanted to eat some place that would be entertaining for her. They gave us the options to pick from Macaroni Grill, Nashville Aquarium and Dave & Busters. We stayed with our first choice the Aquarium. OMG it is located in the Opry Mills Mall. For those who know me well you know that I HATE the mall and I really hate crowds of people. As we were looking for a parking spot I could . . . → Read More: Resturant Review – Nashville Aquarium
By Tamera, on December 31st, 2008% So what a year 2008 turned out to be. We started out 08 in Indianapolis with our dear friends Dan and Tara. My how we have fun together. After that we drove home on Jan 1 and the weather was crappy windy and snowing. Then February rolled in and our neighbors got a puppy. Not just any puppy a basset hound female. They had issues giving her the time and attention she needed, I was certain that she would be my baby girl one day. I took her water, toys and spent time playing with her when I could. She got very excited as I would pull in the drive . . . → Read More: KT & T – 2008 the year in review
By Tamera, on December 30th, 2008% I love French Onion Soup and have tried many different variations and even tried it at many different restaurants. Over time I have resolved that there are certain things that I prefer. Like toasted bread instead of fresh, I also like to cut it into cubes and place it in the bottom instead of floating a slice on top. My cheese of choice is Monterrey Jack. I do have some ideas that I would like to try once I have a fancy cheese outlet.

By Tamera, on December 29th, 2008% Women’s jeans do not come in real lengths. Yeah some brands will give you regular, medium and long but that honestly isn’t much help. It never fails when I buy jeans they need hemmed. I remember that when my mother would hem our pants that everyone could tell, it just never looked the same. Maybe that is because in the 80s jeans were all acid washed and worn a new hem stuck out like a sore thumb. Until someone at work showed me how she put a hem in her jeans, see grad students are an excellent source of information. I believe that she did it by hand I on . . . → Read More: The seekrit hem for store bought jeans
By Tamera, on December 28th, 2008% Yes my post are all kinds of “out of order” and I apologize now. I also will make it a New Year’s Resolution to get my butt back in gear and start cooking and writing again for my loyal readers.
Christmas this year was without a doubt different and probably not one of our favorites. I do however predict that in several years when we are standing in our OMG HUGE house with every family member and every friend we can stuff in there to enjoy Christmas us looking at each other and saying “remember in 2008 when we spent Christmas alone in that crummy apartment”. We have each . . . → Read More: Christmas Day FOOD and lots of it
By Tamera, on December 24th, 2008% Well I have to admit that the departure of KLT for Nashville had far more of an impact on me than I ever expected. I basically lost all zest for most things and really didn’t feel much like doing anything. The good news is that I get to spend 15 days with him most of them in Nashville while he is working. That will leave me with LOTS of time to catch up on blog postings, ARS post, photo uploading and all around organization. So I am here in Nashville, it’s 60 degrees and raining on this Christmas eve and my beloved apparetnly doesn’t want me to play rock band . . . → Read More: …ah and were are we
By Tamera, on December 10th, 2008% In today’s episode of what not to say I will cut and past actual email exchange between a few employees. What you should know is that the announcement regarding said Holiday gathering went out some time ago and the second invite (which was a forward for the start of this mess). Now boys and girls let this be a lesson of when exactly you should STFU! After the last email the list was locked so no one else could post to it. The current excuse from the starter of shit storm “accidentallyhit reply all” (yes both times). You should know we all work in a technical department.
