By Tamera, on November 6th, 2007% Well beleive it or not we were up early, like 6:30 am early. So we pecked at the computers for an hour then got ready for our big day. We stopped last night at Wal*Mart to get provisions for the day, sub sandwiches and roll ups. Excellent! Off we went, destination The Valley of Fire. The oldes National Park in Nevada, dedicated once in 1934 and again in 1935. It was just amazing. We saw just about everything but we did leave a few things for the next time. I have a metric ton of pictures to go through tonight. I fed one of the ground squirels peices of my . . . → Read More: Monday — The whole day
By Tamera, on November 5th, 2007% OMG OMG OMG CHRIS ANGEL was in the booth behind us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok now that’s out of the way. Black Angus steak house for the win. We went here for dinner back in June. I discovered their website and signed up for their “rewards” card. Just before we left they sent me a coupon, God knows how much I love coupons. It was for 2 FREE (my favorite 4-letter word) glasses of wine when you purchase the 4 course meal for two. They serve a warm loaf of rye bread and butter, even before we ordered. So we had crab cakes for our appetizer, they just melted in your mouth, . . . → Read More: OMG Dinner
By Tamera, on November 4th, 2007% OK so I am really TORKED now. Before I left Lafayette I was talking with a friend at work wondering what I should bet on for the Colts/Pats. We agreed that the spread was the safe bet. At that moment I had the thought of 4. So I get back from shopping and it’s the 3rd quarter. Looks like the game was going to be a 3 point spread but NO! ๐ should of, would of, could of.
By Tamera, on November 4th, 2007% I did it. I went shopping at the outlet mall. This one is actually a mall, however not everything in there is labled as an outlet. The first purchase SHOES!!! I got all the things that were on my list; black dress pants, kahki slacks, jeans, and a white tank top. We won’t talk about all the other purchases.
So if you want to command attention as you walk through the casino carry all of that^. Seriously you should see the looks I got. ๐
I just discovered I rushed home an hour early cause the phone had not taken the time change yet. ๐ Oh well . . . → Read More: 3:00 I have finished shopping
By Tamera, on November 4th, 2007% Ok it’s 9:15 am. I have posted pictures and updated the blog, responded to a few emails. I am sitting here at the table marginally paying attention to the TV. OMG FOX NFL Sunday pre-game just came on. Seriously I have on my pj’s and I have not had breakfast. How does one enjoy a day of football that starts so early? Do you invite your football friends over for “brunch”? How GAYE is that? But then I am thinking how great would it be that all the games are over by 9 pm instead of midnight? Excellent idea. I take back my first reactions and hereby vote AGAIN to . . . → Read More: Sunday NFL
By Tamera, on November 4th, 2007% Okay so I just remembered something else that is ticking me off. COFFEE!!!! If I get served one more cup of hot brown water I am likely to hurt someone. No coffee pots in the room! What the crap. Maybe I will buy one and then ship it home.
By Tamera, on November 4th, 2007% KLT has just gotten up to get ready. He has a training session today. The best part of today is that we are going to the Black Angus Steak house for dinner. ๐ WOOOT!
So just to catch everyone up. Yesterday we picked up a boat at the Willow Beach Marina, Arizona. It was a 16′ metal craft with a nice awening. KLT has never driven a boat so this was quite interesting. We went up the Colorado River in search of hot springs and a glipse of the dam from down below. The water moves VERY fast, almost scary. The water is also OMG clear. You can see everything . . . → Read More: Catching up on Sunday
By Tamera, on November 4th, 2007% So I couldn’t sleep, and as I said before it wasn’t the bed. It was a KING size bed and amazing for a hotel. But Kerry doens’t like to get up, let alone early. See todays adventure starts with a 6 am wake up call, 7 am we need to be down eating breakfast and by 8 am we need to be on the road to Willow Beach. We need to stop and get some sub sandwiches for the cooler, fill the cooler with ice and grab some bottled water. I of course am ready, with everything packed and seperated for loading. You know stuff that goes with us; beach . . . → Read More: Saturday 6:30 am
By Tamera, on November 4th, 2007% So apparaently we (Indiana) are not the only ones with screwed up liquor laws. When we travel we like to eat at local estabilisments, try and find things that we just can’t get at home. So driving up and down the NV side of the river and then the Arizona side of the river we decide that the resturants are too busy let’s pick a “pub”. AH HA! There’s one, so KLT being the big PANSEY that he is sends me into an unknown bar, that has blacked out windows to find out if they serve food. NOPE! The laws here changed and if you . . . → Read More: Friday Dinner Time
By Tamera, on November 4th, 2007% At 3:30 I made the statement that I had been to California and was now standing in Nevada looking at Arizona, so what have you done today? Intersting findings today* the number of RVs, RV parks, RV sales and RV repair has to out number the people that live here* the average age in this casino is 60* this casino smells like smoke* this is the BEST room I have ever seen for 50 bucks. No kidding. The bed was AWESOME. The room is all new, you can still smell the glue. ๐* Laughlin’s strip is reminisant of the “old” Vegas strip. No fancy LED signs, or video displays just . . . → Read More: Friday 4:00 pm
