Let’s Build a Time Capsule

So here we are finishing up summer. Last fall when Steve asked me to host I had this great idea…now with all of the current affairs my idea seems less than ideal. So here comes my new good idea, thanks Arlene for the help.

I want to build a time capsule, maybe we all escape to a new planet, maybe the earth just withers and dies, or maybe this is just an exercise in being positive. Tell me what few items or bits of information you’d like me to put into the #SQLCommunity time capsule. What do you want others to know about . . . → Read More: T-SQL Tuesday #129

#TSQL2sday Dealer’s Choice

It always comes to me as a surprise that it is TSQL Tuesday again. I guess time just slips by so quickly these days. If you haven’t heard about or figured out what this Tuesday stuff is all about drop me a line and I will not only sell you on the concept I will convince you to write your first post for next month and even give you a spot to post it. This month it’s the 99th, amazing that a community has been able to manage this for so long. This time AAaron Bertrand [ b | t ] has given us a choice and actually titled . . . → Read More: #TSQL2sday Dealer’s Choice

#TSQL2SDAY – Data Modeling Gone Wrong

Here we are again, time for TSQL2sDay. This is actually the 72nd one, that is long enough to finance and pay off a car these days. This month our gracious host is none other than Mickey Stuewe ( BLOG | TWITTER ) and she’s asked us to tell a story about Data Modeling Gone Wrong. I have to say that I really no nothing about a data model going wrong. Now hold on I am not done yet. You are wondering WTH?! is this girl still sick? Has she lost her marbles? T-SQL Tuesday #43 – Hello, Operator?

Guess what it is that time again, time for T-SQL Tuesday. I missed last month and want to take a moment to tell you why. I had what I thought was the most beautiful post I have done so far. Heart felt, honest and encouraging for others. In a BIZZARE WordPress failure I lost the entire post. I tried so hard for the next 3 days to recreate it but couldn’t. I was dealing with hurt feelings of having a husband who responds with “I told you not to write in WordPress” and a dad who was a bit eager to sit in front of me and talk while I . . . → Read More: T-SQL Tuesday #43 – Hello, Operator?

SQL Community and Family

By now you should know how this writing challenge works, but in light of all the first timers who attended #summit12 I think I will give you a brief run down. The idea is to help people come up with reasons to write. Sometimes it is just hard to keep in the swing of things. T-SQL Tuesday was developed as a topic for everyone to write about and guess what it’s due on the second Tuesday of the month. This month Chris Yates (@YatesSQL | Blog) has asked us a very personal question “SQL Community / What Does the Community Mean To You?”

For me #sqlcommunity is different from #sqlfamily. . . . → Read More: SQL Community and Family
