“I got 99 problems but a disk ain’t one”
I am not a DBA, and I have only pretended to be one after KLT had moved on to TN. But I have seen all of these items cause problems for databases and as a customer of these databases I found it to be extremely annoying.
- users who don’t care
- users who have too many rights
- USERS who have no knowledge of how a DB works or how to write SQL and those who have no idea what could make a query slow
- A bad data model
- Forcing size limit on a DB and requiring a DB to fix it. BAD! BAD DBA! (Had a core system go down more than once cause of this)
- Clueless DBA, sorry but I have seen them do more harm than good.
- Replication –
- Log files –
- unbalanced scheduled jobs
