To be honest, this seems like a no brainer, but I have noticed that in some locations the sponsors are just “there” so to speak. So these are my tips and a lot of them I have gathered from the sponsors over the last year or so.
Make sure your sponsor area gets good foot traffic–this is how they meet your attendees. Don’t build rooms as tracks that would keep folks in 1 room or one end of a building the entire day. Have lunch set up early and allow the sponsors and lunch speakers to go through so they will be ready for the lunch break. . . . → Read More: Inside SQLSaturday – Romancing your Sponsors
By Tamera, on October 27th, 2014% I am so excited and honored to share some exciting news. Last week I got a few burst of good news and I just can’t keep it inside any more. Honestly I just wanted to SING out loud.
I have been officially accepted into the Dun & Bradstreet MVP program. I am so delighted to have this honor and I am looking forward to the great things we can do together!!!
Of course I am not getting an Grammy or anything but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t get 30 seconds to thank a few folks. First OMG a great big thanks to Kim Schmidt [ FACEBOOK | Twitter . . . → Read More: What an honor.
By Tamera, on September 22nd, 2014% There has been a lot of things going on within the #SQLCommunity lately. Largely based on decisions the PASS Board of Directors have made recently. Some folks are out right against some things, others are like “MEH” what ever this too shall pass and some are agreeing to see change but don’t exactly like what/how it is happening.
Last night while talking with friends about some of these happenings Kerry walked into the dinning room and picked up a stray PASS sticker. You see I have a bag that I carry to events that has a small stash of swag, mostly stickers and a few pins. Some how one little . . . → Read More: PASS, Stickers, and BaCon

I am not sure if you heard the word but they are having their FIRST, yes I said 1st SQLSaturday in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada. Those folks at PASS and those of us in the community love it when a new city is added to the list of great places SQLSaturday has been held, but this one really warms our hearts. I have been trying to lend a hand here an there to help with this event and since I am getting there several days early I am sure I will be put on manual labor. But at the end of the day it is . . . → Read More: What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, unless
By Tamera, on October 3rd, 2013% Well La Jolla to be exact!!!!
What a great weekend with #SQLFamily. I believe this is the farthest we’ve traveled to attend a SQL Saturday. Had we driven it would have taken 28 hours and we’d put 2,041 on the car just to get there. Good thing we have the modern marvels of flight. Instead we rode in the back of a Southwest 737 for just short of 4 hours. So much fun to leave Nashville at 8 am and arrive at 10 am local time. Fun until 8 pm local time when I start to get sleepy!!!
We had an action packed weekend. There was a BBQ on . . . → Read More: #SQLSat249 San Diego
By Tamera, on October 8th, 2012% The thought occurred to me today as I was writing my 3rd email to the First Timer’s group that maybe it was good idea to blog this info as some folks might not want to be in a group but have the ability to find the info on their own. Hmm,too bad I didn’t of that earlier. Here is the recap I posted last year: MyRecap
